(This was an April Fools joke for April 1, 2016, it actually says so in the article itself several times, just in white so you have to highlight it to see it. For the record, DeAno would never sell (according to him) for all the money in the world, and we both.. (looking for a nice way to say this).. have issues with Gawker for its lack of research and knowledge.)

It darkens my heart to say this, but this may be my last article for Geeks of the Round.
Our founder and producer DeAno Jackson and I have been discussing the future of the site for a couple years now and just last week, after a spike in readership, we got an offer on the site and the brand. As of midnight tonight, this will be technically a Gawker site. They have opted to keep DeAno on as a contractor working for a couple of the Gawker branded sites, but they have not offered me a position and I have chosen not to push the matter. April Fools

Once the site falls under their leadership I don’t know what will happen. Its possible the site will disappear tonight at midnight, emerging sometime later. It could remain as it is with new writers, I am sadly no longer in the loop on the running of the site. April Fools

I am sorry we kept this information secret until now. I really did not want to accept it was happening. It is a sad day in geek history. However, at least myself and DeAno will finally make some money on the site, DeAno much more than me obviously. April Fools

We will miss you, we will miss the community, we will miss all the fun we had. Stay tuned for our next endeavor, April Fools

And on that note, I bid you all adieu! April Fools
