Dear G. Willow Wilson, Adrian Alphona, Ian Herring, Sana Amanat, and Alan Fine. Thank you. While I really want to yell at you for making a grown man cry… Thank you. Ms Marvel‘s final comic (pre Secret Wars) was everything the last panel of the last issue promised; sweet, funny, emotional, powerful, and more than anything else, human. There are no battles in this comic, just a lot of Kamala Khan proving how much she’s grown up, and how much growing up she still has to do. Ms Marvel’s success in the Marvel multiverse has been great to see, and I’m now looking forward to her next adventures.
The A-Force’s run in the Secret Wars comes to a close as they face off against an army of zombies. Ms Marvel, Spider Gwen, Monica Rambeau, Mockingbird, Black Widow, and even Elektra get in on the action. It’s a veritable who’s who of all the women in the Marvel universe! When everything seems lost for Nico Minoru, Singularity swoops in to save the day. It’s a great comic, and the whole series is worth a read, especially as A-Force will return.
Marvel Zombies finishes its Battleworld tale with Elsa Bloodstone going up against a zombie version of her father, while under attack from a bunch of other zombies, and trying to protect her companion, while also trying to deal with the fact that her father is trying to kill her, and has killed many different versions of her. Elsa really needs a cup of tea. What she gets instead, however, is her father biting off her hand and infecting her. He’s really not a nice guy. Of course, the kid, who isn’t who she appears to be, saves the day. How? Well you’ll just have to read to find out!
I was going to cover the Green Lantern / Star Trek crossover this week, but there’s only one issue of that left so I’ll wait until that drops before talking about it. If you haven’t been following it, go read it!
There were many other comics released this week, and a few hints as to the ending of the Secret Wars. Let me know if you have any theories in the comments. I’ll save my own theories for a special post in a couple of weeks.
