Warning: This post and this video have huge spoilers. Skip them if you want to go into the game fresh!
So thanks to the good folks at Bethesda UK, we have a launch trailer for Fallout 4! It starts out implying that the main character (you) are a war vet headed towards another war, presumably on the side of or against a group known as “The Institute” (you will most likely be able to decide what side to be on). Now while that’s not a huge deal.. this is.. This game has synths. Robots that take human form. We are shown synths that is obvious, but then we are shown the arrest of someone who looks 100% human for being a synth. So obviously they can blend in. So the question I have is.. You survived in Vault 111 for over 200 years.. Is the main character a synth? I guess we will see! Here’s the trailer!
So you like? I bet you do! The game looks amazing. Not just the graphics in general, but the art design of such things as Diamond City, the obvious synths are very steampunk and the fighting looks smooth as always. But what do you think? Are you going to be picking this up on Tuesday, November 10th when it comes out? Are you getting it on PC, PS4 or XBox One? Let us know in the comments!
That’s right folks, I’m back with yet another article for your reading pleasure. This time I’ll be giving my thoughts on the trailer and info we currently have on the upcoming expansion Horizons for the popular online space simulator Elite: Dangerous created by Frontier Developments. Now keep in mind that I have not played Elite: Dangerous due to the game’s controls for mouse and keyboard are extremely confusing to me and so I’ve been waiting until I could get my hands on a HOTAS (Hand on Throttle and Stick). Despite not playing the game, I still have an extremely high interest in the future of Elite: Dangerous and that’s not going to stop me from talking about it. So before I get into the meat of my thoughts I’ll show you the first teaser for Elite: Dangerous – Horizons, enjoy.
Yeah, I know that isn’t much to go on especially since it is a “teaser”, but you have to admit that what we’ll get with Horizons could be huge and it gives me great hope for the future of Elite: Dangerous.
Now at the current moment we don’t have a whole lot of information. The information we do have (at least the information I could find) is that we will not have the ability to explore every type of planet, only rocky and uninhabited planets. I also believe it is limited to planets that have a minimal to no atmosphere. Personally I’m fine with that, I can definitely see that Frontier Developments is taking baby steps and I think they should. Elite: Dangerous may be available right now but Frontier Developments still shouldn’t rush its continued development. Regardless, I’m very pleased with the direction of Elite: Dangerous and I am definitely looking forward to what comes after the Horizons expansion.
So now that’s you’ve seen the teaser for Horizons, what do you think? Do you have any theories as to what will come next? Have you been playing Elite: Dangerous? Let us know in the comments. Greetings Folks, I’m back with another article and this time around I’ll be showing you some new footage from the game Star Citizen that was shown at CitizenCon 2015. I know I know, you’re probably wondering why I should care about Star Citizen, you’re probably thinking “this game has been in development for years, it’ll never be released”. Well I’m going to tell you right now, I have been following this game since it was announced back in 2012 and I understand the development process for this game, this game is easily the most ambitious game ever developed and I firmly believe that it should not be rushed. Chris Roberts and the team at Cloud Imperium Games have been taking things slow with this game and with the following footage it seems that the “slow and steady wins the race” stance seems to have paid off. After watching the footage I must say this game looks absolutely beautiful, stunningly so. Believe me, I am tempted to say “I cannot wait to play this game” but by saying that implies that I would be willing to play the game before it is ready, and I’m not. So I’ll take a deep breath and calm my nerves, and I’ll suggest you do the same because you’re in for a wild ride. So without further ado here’s the new Star Citizen footage shown at CitizenCon 2015.
Looks good doesn’t it? It’s not the only video (and I will show the others below) but I wanted to say that in the footage you’ll see that characters (for the most part) are completely motion captured and I am completely ecstatic about that. However the animations did seem a bit wonky in some places but since Star Citizen is still in development I’m willing to let that slide, you can’t expect it to be perfect even when it’s still in it’s early stages. Regardless from this video alone the game looks absolutely stunningly. One last thing, the video you just say was not online footage, it was footage from Squadron 42, the single player module for Star Citizen. And if you think that looks good, just wait until you see the following videos.
The video you just saw was footage of the persistent online universe as well as a bit of the FPS module which has been named “Star Marine“. And just like with the first video I showed you the game definitely looks promising. Now I only have one more video to show you but you can find more at this helpful reddit thread. The final video I will provide for you shows off a new feature on the Star Citizen site that’s called the Star Map, an interesting and dynamic feature that shows off the entire Star Citizen universe, our universe. Check it out below.
Well that about covers it folks, Star Citizen definitely has promise and keeps getting better with every update despite what the naysayers say. So are you as excited for Star Citizen as I am? Do you think it’s going to fail despite the progress we’ve seen? Is Star Citizen a game you’re not particularly interested in? Let us know in the comments, we value the opinions of our readers. Be sure to also check out our various discussion vidcasts on our YouTube channel, we’ve just started the new fall season. So on that note folks I bring this article to a close, thanks for reading and I’ll see you at the next article, bye bye.
Although there’s been a highly public huge falling out between Hideo Kojima and Konami, Kojima’s latest masterpiece in the Metal Gear Solid series is looking, well, solid. In this video walkthrough straight from Gamescom 2015, we get our first real look at the function of Mother Base, as well as how the massively online component of the game functions. Check it out below!
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is scheduled for release on September 1st, 2015 for the PlayStation 3, XBox 360, PlayStation 4, XBox One, and PC.
Hey everybody! Been a little over a month since I posted, but seeing as we’ve been in a post-E3 news drought, can you blame me? Well good news, while you were sleeping, or watching Netflix and chilling, Square Enix held a press conference to announce some new lineups to their 2nd biggest franchise, Dragon Quest.
To get some of the smaller news out of the way, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 was announced for 3DS and Dragon Quest X was announced for PS4 and NX(but neither as of this writing were confirmed to come to the West). DQMJ3 is slated to come out sometime after Dragon Quest Builders which is coming out Winter 2015. I’d be surprised if DQX came out Q4 2016 at the earliest.
Now onto the main course, Dragon Quest XI will be coming to 3DS, PS4, and NX(the Wii-U is now almost as officially dead as the PS Vita). The PS4 and NX versions will be running on Unreal Engine 4, and the 3DS will have a separate version made by Toy Logic which will feature split screen and downgraded sprite models. If the difference is confusing to you, watch both videos. This will be similar to what Ni no Kuni did between the PS3 and NDS versions of that game.
No release window has been set yet, but if I had to place a bet I’d guess Q2 2017 based on all other Square Enix projects. Are you excited about any of the new Dragon Quest titles? Leave a comment below.
Wow. Just, wow. We saw a bit of this demo already as Sony used it to close out their E3 2015 press event, but now we get to see a little bit more from that particular area of Naughty Dog’s newest game featuring Nathan Drake, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which they streamed via their Twitch.TV channel earlier today. Check it out for yourself below!
Looks absolutely amazing, and I for one can’t wait to put hands on it. Uncharted 4 will launch exclusively on PlayStation 4 next year in March, 2016. Is this 15 minutes of gameplay enough to convince you to pick it up? Let us know in the comments, and keep it locked to Geeks of the Round for continued coverage of this game and much, much more!
